Great things are a foot at our new location in Newmarket. A new team has co-created a business community to relaunch the café. They will be focussing on vegan, vegetarian and raw food which will be run totally on gift economy! Their intention is to create a light hearted gathering space that is a living model of a different way to do business where the focus is on mutual support and resource, rather than purely on profit.
So within one location there is not only Goodeys Bookstore but also Wise Cicada (natural health food/eco products), Naturopathic healing clinic and now a fabulous new cafe. To celebrate this new phase for all of the businesses contained within Wise Cicada you are invited to come along and experience it all for yourself on Sunday the 28th of Feb! - details below.

The NZ Trauma Recovery Team
Helping individuals overcome trauma and rebuild their lives
Following the tsunami that hit the southern coast of Samoa on 29 September 2009, many of the thousands of people affected are still suffering from depression, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), insomnia, delirium and aggression (as reported on stuff.co.nz 25/11/09). It has been reported that many communities have taken to the hills and are fearful of rebuilding in coastal areas.
On the invitation of the Samoan Ministry of Health, our team of therapists will travel to Samoa on 25th February to train local mental health workers and counsellors and work one-on-one with those requiring help. And we need your help!
We were fortunate to have our initial trip last December (to meet with the agencies requiring our help) sponsored in part by the Flight Centre, Air New Zealand and Aggie Grey’s Lagoon Beach Resort Apia. We now require donations to help us fund our full trip in February. Funds raised will cover costs of flights, airport transfers/parking, island transportation, administaton, etc. Accommodation is being provided by Aggie Gray’s (thank you Aggie’s!).
The Trauma Recovery Team is a group of nationally and internationally certified NLP Master Practitioners and Trainers working with victims of trauma. Using ground-breaking techniques that provide profound and lasting relief from trauma and PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), we are helping people who have suffered from disasters such as the tsunami in Samoa in September 2009. NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming, the study of excellence in a range of areas including therapy, personal change, communication and education. The NLP techniques we employ have been shown to be the most effective solution to treating PTSD in war zones and post 9-11
